The $8 million Singapore Medical Center (Cambodia) Co Ltd (SGMC) is set open on September 23 to serve patients in the capital, it said on Thursday.
The medical centre occupies 1,400sqm on the third floor of The Bridge complex in Phnom Penh’s Tonle Bassac commune and will have state-of-the-art medical equipment in line with Singaporean standards, it said.
Anthony Jude Tan, the executive officer of DrMap (Cambodia), a Singapore-run medical wellness consulting and management solution provider, said the centre will provide full services to the public from November 18.
“SGMC is committed to building Cambodia’s first and finest medical wellness and lifestyle destination,” he said.
The medical centre will offer general practice, health screening and diagnostic imaging, women’s health, aesthetics, general surgery, laser treatments, and negative ion and far-infrared therapy, said Tan.
“We will provide leading medical services in Cambodia in line with Singapore’s ethical standards,” he said.
He said the centre will reduce the number of Cambodians seeking medical care in Singapore while attracting health tourists from other countries as well.
“Both Cambodians and expatriates living in Cambodia often travel to Singapore for health check-ups and treatment. But now, they can obtain such services in Phnom Penh,” he said.
The SGMC will employ 12 doctors from Singapore, the US and Cambodia.http://https://www.phnompenhpost.com/business/singapore-run-medical-centre-slated-open-phnom-penh
