Cambodia Airports and Singapore Airlines (SIA) issued a joint press release on December 17 announcing the resumption of international flights to the Siem Reap airport with SIA’s inaugural flight arriving at 9:45am that day.
SIA’s flight to Siem Reap will be the first international flight to land there since March, 2020, after a 20 month pause. Now, starting from December 17 onward, SIA will operate daily flights between Siem Reap and Singapore on their fleet of Boeing 737-8 airplanes.
“This new stage in relaunching international connectivity is a positivee step forward for Cambodia that would not have been possible had the Cambodian authorities not opted for the reopening of the country to fully vaccinated visitors,” said CEO of Cambodia Airports Alain Brun in the press statement.
Cambodia Airports is a public-private partnership between the government of Cambodia and VINCI Airports, the world’s leading private airport operator, which manages 45 airports in 12 countries across three continents.
“The re-introduction of international services between Singapore and Siem Reap is great news for our customers, who can resume travel between the cities and connect on to other destinations in our network,” said General Manager of SIA Cambodia Zechariah Chai.
SIA will be offering “Vaccinated Travel Lane” flights four times weekly from Siem Reap to Singapore that will allow travellers who are vaccinated to forego quarantine in Singapore provided they meet the programme’s eligibilty rules.
